Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy
Jake Ames, MD, HMD
I have specialized in bio-identical hormone therapies in men and women since 1994. As we age we all become low on testosterone, DHEA-sulfate, progesterone, pregnenolone, and human growth hormone. Getting these hormones back to an optimal 25-year-old level helps your body heal quicker, maintain your strength, reverse osteopenia and osteoporosis, reduce age-related wrinkling, helps keep your brain sharp and increases your libido.
The references ranges for hormone lab testing do not tell you what your optimal hormone ranges should be. I treat the patient, not the lab results. I use lab results as a guide to help me determine your optimal hormone doses.
I am a trained allergist, and I find some women allergic to individual hormones besides being low on them. This can cause fatigue, brain fog and psychological and emotional lability. I can usually get them cured of their hormone allergy in one to two 5-minute acupressure techniques. Sometimes I even see allergies to neurotransmitters.
Most men at age 50 have higher estradiol levels than their wives of the same age. Estradiol in men is needed for brain and bone health and to achieve and maintain erections. Too much estradiol increases a man’s risk of prostate enlargement (BPH), prostate cancer, obesity, gynecomastia (male boobs), erectile dysfunction, hypertension, heart attacks, and strokes. I know how to bring a man’s estradiol level to optimal.
I have done thousands of subdermal hormone pellet insertions and used topical creams in women and men. I teach other physicians how to diagnose and treat hormone deficiencies in women and men.
Many people have Type 2 hypothyroidism and they and their physician’s do not recognize it. Low thyroid hormone in men and women will affect all steroid hormones. I am an expert in diagnosing and treating all thyroid hormone disorders, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, Type 2 hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer.
I live and work in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest cities in Mexico. The people here are very friendly, and the beaches, cuisine, and entertainment are outstanding. I am looking forward to helping you achieve optimal health.
